a) Investment visa: DT1
Issued to foreign investors in Vietnam and representatives of foreign organizations investing in Vietnam with capital contributions of VND 100 billion or more or investing in investment incentive industries, trades, or investment incentive areas decided by the Government.
The duration of DT1 Visa is not more than 05 years.
Temporary residence card issued. Temporary residence card validity: Maximum 10 years
b) Investment visa: DT2
Issued to foreign investors in Vietnam and representatives of foreign organizations investing in Vietnam with capital contributions worth from 50 billion VND to less than 100 billion VND or investing in industries and professions encouraged for investment and development as decided by the Government.
The duration of DT2 Visa is not more than 05 years.
Temporary residence card issued. Temporary residence card validity: Maximum 05 years
c) Investment visa: DT3
Issued to foreign investors in Vietnam and representatives of foreign organizations investing in Vietnam with capital contributions worth from 3 billion VND to less than 50 billion VND.
The term of DT3 Visa is not more than 03 years.
Temporary residence card issued. Temporary residence card validity: Maximum 03 years
d) Investment visa: DT4
Issued to foreign investors in Vietnam and representatives of foreign organizations investing in Vietnam with capital contribution value of less than 3 billion VND.
The duration of DT4 Visa is not more than 12 months.
DT4 visa is not granted temporary residence card
3. CONDITIONS FOR FOREIGNERS TO BE GRANTED AN INVESTMENT VISA (DT) IN VIETNAM
To be granted an investment visa in Vietnam, foreigners must meet the following conditions:
- Passport must be valid for at least 13 months from the date of registration.
- Have documents proving investor in Vietnam.
Such documents may be:
- Certificate of business registration/investment certificate;
- Certificate of capital contribution/shares in the enterprise;
- Other relevant documents proving that the foreigner is an investor according to the provisions of Vietnamese law on enterprises and investment.

5. INVESTMENT VISA APPLICATION SERVICE OF THUY NGOC LAW

Step 2. Request entry approval document for investors
Enterprises with foreign investors' capital contributions apply for entry approval documents for foreign investors.
Receiving agency: Immigration Department or Immigration Office of province/city.
The profile includes:
- Application for entry approval signed and sealed by the sponsoring enterprise;
- Copy of investor's passport (valid for at least 6 months);
- Enterprise Registration Certificate (ERC) of the company in Vietnam;
- Investment Registration Certificate (IRC) (if any);
- Documents proving that the investor has contributed capital;
- Entry schedule (expected time, place to receive visa, reason for entry).
Step 3: Submit application for investment visa in Vietnam
After being granted entry approval by the competent authority of Vietnam, the investor shall prepare:
- Entry letter (original);
- Original passport;
- 4x6 cm photo (white background, recently taken);
- Visa application form;
- Visa fees as prescribed.
Investors submit application for investment visa at Vietnamese diplomatic agency according to regulations.
Step 4: Receive Vietnam investment visa results
After submitting the application and receiving the appointment letter, the sponsoring company will come to get the results according to the prescribed time.
Step 5. Apply for temporary residence card (if required)
After being granted an investment visa. If the investor wants to stay long-term, he/she should apply for a Temporary Residence Card (TRC) with a duration corresponding to the DT1, DT2, DT3 visa.
The investor's profile includes:
- Original passport;
- Valid investment visa;
- Enterprise Registration Certificate (ERC) of the company in Vietnam;
- Investment Registration Certificate (IRC) (if any);
- Investment Registration Certificate (IRC) (if any);
- Temporary residence registration certificate confirmed by the police of the ward/commune where you reside;
- 2x3 cm photos (2 pieces);
- Temporary residence card fee according to application period.
Important Note:
- Investors should fully fulfill their capital contribution obligations as committed to be eligible for a long-term visa or temporary residence card.
- Can authorize a law firm or service unit to carry out the procedure.
7. APPLICATION FOR INVESTMENT VISA IN VIETNAM
a) To apply for an investment visa, you need to prepare the following documents:
- Original passport with valid term as prescribed;
- Certificate of Enterprise Registration (ERC) of the company in Vietnam (notarized copy);
- Investment Registration Certificate (IRC) (if any);

Investors with capital contribution under 3 billion VND (DT4 Visa) have only one option to apply for a visa with a maximum duration of no more than 12 months.
Vietnamese law does not allow investors of this type to apply for any other type of visa besides this one.

According to Vietnamese law, the following subjects do not have to apply for a work permit in Vietnam:
1. Being an owner or contributing member of a limited liability company with a capital contribution value of 3 billion VND or more.
