STEPS FOR APPLYING FOR A TEMPORARY RESIDENCE CARD (TRC) FOR FOREIGN INVESTORS IN VIETNAM

Foreign investors who wish to apply for a Temporary Residence Card (TRC) in Vietnam must first establish a company in Vietnam, make capital contributions, apply for a work permit and visa, and then apply for the TRC. The procedure is as follows:
I. PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING FOR A TRC FOR FOREIGN INVESTORS IN VIETNAM
1. In case the foreign investor contributes capital of more than VND 3 billion
The procedure is as follows:
Step 1: Establish a company in Vietnam
After the company is established, the foreign investor must fully contribute the registered capital.
Step 2: Apply for an Investor Visa
After establishing the company and completing the capital contribution, the investor applies for an Investor Visa.
Step 3: Apply for a Temporary Residence Card
After obtaining the Investor Visa, the investor applies for a Temporary Residence Card.
2. In case the foreign investor contributes capital of less than VND 3 billion
The procedure is as follows:
Step 1: Establish a company in Vietnam
After the company is established, the foreign investor must fully contribute the registered capital.
Step 2: Apply for a Work Permit
After establishing the company and completing the capital contribution, the investor applies for a Work Permit.
Step 3: Apply for a Work Visa (LD2)
After obtaining the Work Permit, the foreign investor applies for a Work Visa.
Step 4: Apply for a Temporary Residence Card
After obtaining the Work Visa, the investor applies for a Temporary Residence Card.
